TCL NXTFRAME TV: Why We Love the TV

Shopping for a stylish frame TV that blends into your space? You’re in the right place. In this TCL NXTFRAME TV review, we’ll share why we chose it over the Samsung Frame TV—and what makes it worth the buy.

TCL NXTFRAME Review

If you’ve been following us for a while, then you know we’ve been tackling house projects for over five years! And just had a baby, too! Recently, when we wrapped up both our living room and bedroom makeovers (scroll down a bit to see what we purchased for our decor!), we faced a big decision: should we go with a traditional mounted TV, or invest in a Frame TV?

At first, my husband James was really hesitant to splurge on the Frame TV—and honestly, I don’t blame him. After all, these days you can get a basic smart TV for just a few hundred dollars, if not less.

Through our research and shopping at Best Buy, we ended up walking out with not one, but two TCL NXTFRAME TVs.

TCL NXTFRAME vs SAMSUNG FRAME

Price

  • WINNER: The TCL NXTFRAME 55-inch is $1,000 full price.
  • The Samsung Frame TV 55 inch is $1,500 full price. Add on the monthly art membership, and the price difference is staggering.

Chassis Box

  • WINNER: The TCL NXTFRAME TV has a built-in Chassis Box, which means the circuit boards and technological components are secured inside the TV itself.
  • The Samsung Frame TV requires the Chassis Box to be mounted on your wall behind the TV, which, for many people, requires additional labor and cost.

Digital Art

  • WINNER: The TCL NXTFRAME TV comes with 400 artworks and endless AI possibilities at no cost to the user.
  • The Samsung Frame TV comes with just 20 pre-loaded artwork choices. Other artwork can be obtained through a monthly subscription that costs $4.99 per month, roughly $60 per year. Although more costly, the Samsung Frame TV‘s artwork renders on the TV with higher quality and pixelation than the NXTFRAME TV.

Frame for the TV

  • WINNER: The NXTFRAME TV comes with a thin, magnetic, natural tone frame for every TV.
  • The Samsung Frame TV does not come with a frame, and its frame options are quite costly (see frame picture below).

Is the Frame TV Worth It?

In my opinion, there are two categories that make the Frame TV worth it: The sleek design and the artwork. We absolutely love having a flushmount TV on the fireplace that complements the wood and natural beauty of the mantel. To me, it’s worth paying extra for the TV to blend into the wall so seamlessly.

We also love having the artwork as an option for the Frame TV when it’s not actively being used, especially when we’re entertaining. It goes without saying, however, you have to use the art feature (and remember to do so!) for it to be completely worth it.

So, do I recommend the TCL NXTFRAME TV?

Yes! We love it so much, we bought two!
